FAQ
Questions shop owners ask.
If yours is not here, ask us — on WhatsApp or by email.
Does Faro work without internet?
Yes. Billing, stock and customer records live on the counter PC, so the counter keeps working when the connection drops. Faro must reach our licence server at least once every 14 days; if it cannot, it turns read-only (you can look things up but not bill) until it checks in. Activating a new counter needs a connection once.
What computer do I need?
A Windows PC at the counter, an 80 mm receipt printer and, if you use one, a barcode scanner that types like a keyboard. There is no Mac version and no phone app for the counter.
Can I run Faro on more than one counter?
Not yet. Several counters sharing one shop over the local network is built and being hardened. Today each shop runs Faro on one counter PC. An owner with more than one shop can see them together on the owner dashboard, on plans that include it.
Is it in Urdu?
Yes. The whole app switches between English, Urdu (right-to-left) and Roman Urdu, and each user can change it at any time.
Can I bring my existing product list?
Yes — products and stock quantities can be imported from a CSV, XLS or XLSX spreadsheet. Older bills and customer history from another system are not imported.
Who pays for WhatsApp messages?
You do, directly to Meta. Messages are sent from your own WhatsApp Business account and Meta bills that account. Faro does not sell message credit or add a margin.
Can Faro send WhatsApp bills today?
The official WhatsApp Business connection is waiting for Meta’s app review, so new shops cannot be connected that way yet. We will tell existing customers as soon as it is approved.
What happens if a payment fails?
We tell you by email and with a notice, and you have 7 days to sort it out in the owner portal. After that, operational access is put on hold until the payment goes through, and it is restored automatically when it does. Your records stay on your counter PC; nothing is deleted.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
The records stay on your counter PC; nothing is deleted. Faro becomes read-only until the subscription is active again.
Is my data backed up?
On plans that include cloud backup, the shop’s database is encrypted on the PC before upload and can be restored to a new PC. A backup is only as recent as the last one taken, so keep the counter PC in good order too.
Who can see my shop’s data?
Your records are on your PC. What reaches our servers is what the online features need: the summaries you sync, encrypted backups, and the details needed for licensing and WhatsApp. Our Privacy Policy explains each in full.
How much does Faro cost, and in which currency?
The entry plan is $20 a month in US dollars, the same in every country, and starts with a one-month free trial. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Annual prices and plans for bigger workshops are not confirmed yet, so the pricing page marks them “to be confirmed” rather than showing a number.
How do I pay for Faro?
Online payment is not open yet, so for now we set up your subscription with you directly. When it opens, you start from the pricing page, confirm your email with a code, and pay on Paddle’s secure checkout — Paddle is our merchant of record, and we never see your card details. You then manage billing from the owner portal.
Can I try it first?
Subscriptions bought online start with a one-month free trial. Online sign-up is not open yet; until it is, book a demo and we will show Faro to you on a real oil-change bill.
Can I get a refund?
There is no general money-back guarantee. A monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time and runs to the end of the paid month; the month in progress is not refunded. An annual subscription can be cancelled by request, and the unused part of the year is refunded through Paddle. Our Refund Policy (a draft awaiting approval) has the details.
Where do I download Faro?
After you buy, the owner portal’s Get started page has the installer and your counter activation code, which we also email to you. There is no public download on this website, and our team can install Faro with you if you prefer.
Why does Windows warn me about the installer?
The current installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may show a warning before it runs. If you would rather not click through that yourself, our team can install Faro with you.
